Stylish Boutonniere Inspirations

Stylish Boutonnieres for Your Big Day

That a boutonniere is no longer limited to the use of roses, as once was the case, is quite evident. From using succulents and moss, to different kids of wheats, and even sea shells, there are no limits on letting your creativity and style unfold. Below are a handful of some of our favorite wedding Boutonnieres – found on Pinterest, on some of our favorite weddings blogs, Instagram, google images, and more. Before you create your own Boutonniere however, there are a few things you should pay attention to. First off, you need to consider scale. A Boutonniere is supposed to a be a small accent to add some color and elegance to a man’s ensemble. Anything larger than 4 inches tall will simply look too much like a bouquet, and will look out of place when attached to a suit’s lapel. Secondly, think about your colors. The Boutonniere does not have to match your necktie, but should compliment in color. A pastel yellow tie for instance can be nicely paired with a fresh succulent Boutonniere. Last but not least, think about whether or not you want to wear a pocket square. Pocket squares are typically worn on the same side as a Boutonniere. Thus, having both on one outfit can be a bit overpowering. We at Mens-Ties.com therefore suggest you choose one of the other, but never both on the same ensemble. Below are a couple great examples on different Boutonniere styles and pairings.
