Dress Like the “Boss” – Fashion Tips Borrowed From Bruce Springsteen

A Closer Look at Bruce Springsteen’s Style: Get Your Wardrobe on Par with this Rock’n Roll Legend

Bruce-Springsteen-style-fashion-tipsIt’s no secret that Bruce Springsteen is a true pioneer of American rock and roll. Just the mention of Springsteen’s name is all it takes in order to conjure up images of back-road Americana, something the musician has practically built his business upon. It should come as no surprise that there are a great deal of Springsteen imitators out there, trying as best they can to capitalize on the New Jersey native’s massive amount of success. The fact is, much of Springsteen’s rise to the top comes from his inherent style and good looks. Looking like Springsteen isn’t necessarily an easy thing to pull off, but it doesn’t have to be anywhere near impossible. So long as you take the following tips into consideration, you’ll be well on your way towards embracing Bruce Springsteen’s iconic style.

Skinny Jeans are Crucial
No matter how you feel about skinny jeans, there’s no way of getting around the fact that Springsteen has practically built his career upon them. This is the first step that one should take towards implementing Springsteen’s style into their own fashion sense, regardless of whether or not they’ve worn them in the past. Skinny jeans can be difficult to pull off for a lot of guys, however, as it takes a relatively fit physique in order for these jeans to look right. So long as you are relatively in-shape, however, wearing skinny jeans shouldn’t be as hard as you might make it out to be. Go with those of a dark-blue wash, or consider dark-grey jeans if you’re interested in taking a more unique approach to denim.

Don’t Neglect the Flannel
A lot of guys have a hard time with the idea wearing flannel. The fact is, anyone who has ever lived in a cold-weather environment knows just how effective flannel can be when worn correctly, and if you’re looking to get the Springsteen look, you’ve simply got to give it a shot. Flannel is an American pastime, and can look great on the right guy. If you’re aiming to dress like Springsteen, go with a relatively light, thin flannel; chunky varieties will cause a disconnect. Red, black and white are great colors to accentuate this look (preferable in a plaid pattern), although you shouldn’t hesitate to experiment. Finally, leave those buttons loose; Springsteen’s casual look practically requires you to throw caution to the wind. Oh; and pop that collar!

Tie Things Together with a Leather Jacket
If you want to embrace Springsteen’s American pastiche, you’ve got to throw a leather jacket into the mix. Springsteen often constructs his stage ensemble from skinny jeans and light flannel, topping it off with a rugged leather jacket. The main thing to take into consideration here is the fact that the jacket should be distressed for best results; if it doesn’t look worn, it simply won’t look right. Perhaps most importantly, you should always go with black’ as brown just isn’t going to get it done. Also, leave it unzipped and let your ensemble breathe as much as possible.
