Best Fall Fashion Accessories 2012

cabbie-cap-fall-2012Men who pay close attention to the way they dress know that accessorizing is the key to taking one’s appearance to the next level. This being said, wearing the wrong accessories can easily detract from one’s image, and should be avoided whenever possible. When the cooler temperatures of fall come around, options regarding accessories begin to open up in ways that simply don’t exist in the summer. In order to accessorize properly, however, it’s best to take the time to determine which will work well and which will not. Fortunately, there are a variety of accessories out there that are tailor-fit for men who are trying to take their fall ensembles to the next level. Consider the following tips, for example – all of which will help you to accessorize in an attractive manner throughout fall 2012.

Scarves
A scarf can be quite effective in the fall; especially for individuals who live in chilly areas. One of the biggest mistakes that people make throughout the fall, however, is layering with a chunky wool scarf. Wool scarves are perfect for the chill of winter, but they can look ridiculous during the fall, and almost always make people uncomfortably warm. For best results, you’ll want to find a scarf that is made out of a thin, comfortable material such as silk. Silk scarves can be worn with just about any fall ensemble, and are thin enough so that they won’t make you uncomfortably warm (although they still provide a fair amount of warmth to keep fall winds at bay). Outfitting your wardrobe with at least a few silk scarves is essential if you want to look your best this fall.

Gloves
Winter gloves are necessary for when the snow starts falling. Bearing this in mind, you’ll look absurd wearing a thick pair of winter gloves in September or October. Instead, stick with sleek leather driving gloves, which can easily be incorporated into a fall ensemble. These types of gloves are attractive, will keep your hands warm and will not look out of place. Try wearing leather gloves with a trench coat, which is a great fall look and will draw attention to you without making it appear as if you’re trying exceptionally hard to do so. Note that color-coding is essential if you plan to wear leather gloves; like-colors should always be matched.

Hats
A lot of people jump the gun once fall arrives by throwing on hats that are better suited for winter. Beanies, for example, are the main offenders, and often come out too early. During the fall, you’ll do much better with a cabbie cap, which can be quite fashionable when combined with vintage clothing. If the cabbie cap isn’t right for you, however, you might want to consider sticking with the traditional baseball cap. It’s not uncommon for this item to get a bad rap, but the fact remains that it is an iconic part of American fashion, and can actually be very attractive when worn with the right pieces; a leather or denim jacket, perhaps.
