Five Fashion Tips Worth Implementing When Dressing for the Bars & Clubs

mens-night-club-fashionFor guys who live the single life, frequenting night clubs is all too common a scenario. After all, it’s not exactly easy to meet women by sitting at home and watching a movie, and striking up a conversation at the grocery store is easier said than done. If you plan on making any moves at the club, you’ve got to make sure you’re dressed to impress. A lot of guys don’t know exactly what they should wear when going out to night clubs, which can result in turning women off rather than bringing them close. Fortunately, there are a variety of tried and true tips that you can keep in mind when getting ready to go out, all of which will help you to make an impression. The following are five things to think about before heading out the door the next time you end up going to a night club.

1. Leave Your Nicest Clothes at Home
It’s not uncommon for guys to throw on what they consider to be their nicest clothes when heading out to the club in order to make a good impression. The fact is, though, your finest outfit isn’t going to come through in the low lighting conditions that are typical of clubs; not to mention the fact that you’re likely to get sweaty throughout the night. Add to this the chances of getting a drink spilled on that $200 shirt, and it should come as no surprise why it’s best to leave your nicest clothes at home.

2. Avoid Black
While a lot of people think black is the best color for wearing to a night club, it’s actually one of the worst choices you can make. More often than not, night clubs utilize black-lights as part of their lighting rigs, which can burn black clothing a drab, ugly shade of brown. If you want to go with dark neutrals, stick to charcoal or navy blue, which will look far more flattering in this type of light. If you like black, then use it for certain accent pieces only such as black ties. Want to get noticed? Then add some brighter accessories to your look.

3. Wear a Light Coat
Ever get annoyed with having to check your coat when getting to a club? You’re not alone. One of the best ways to avoid this annoyance is to wear a lightweight coat that you can keep on throughout the duration of the evening. Stick with navy blue blazers if you’re used to wearing them, or go with the leather jacket if you want to make a bold impression on the ladies.

4. Understand the Club
Understanding the club that you’re about to go to is perhaps the most important thing you can do in order to ensure that you look right before heading out. After all, every club has a different feel, crowd, scene etc.; not to mention a completely different dress code. The better you understand how people tend to dress at the club you’re thinking about going to, the easier it’ll be to choose an outfit.

5. Avoid Ridiculous Accessories
While the club can be a great place to scope out amazing fashion, it can also be loaded with fashion sins; especially when people start getting happy with their accessories. Sunglasses, large gold chains and other, similar accessories will do nothing to help your case when hanging at the club, and should be avoided at all times. After all, no one wants to get laughed at during a night out, which is almost always the case when ridiculous accessories come out.
