Our Three Favorite Looks for Wearing Knitted Ties
The knitted necktie was once considered an accessory restricted to the cold days in fall and winter. This was partially due to the fact that most knitted ties from days past were made from winter typical fabrics (merino wool, wool, and cashmere). Well, the trend in knitted ties has shifted. Not only has the knit tie gained huge popularity in both casual and business settings, but is is now also made in summer typical fabrics and colors. We at Mens-Ties looked through hundreds of Pinterest albums in search of our three favorite outfits using a knitted necktie as an accessory.
Everything about this ensemble is perfect. The double breasted wool suit is perfectly tailored. The wider peak lapels on the suit are well balanced with the wider collar spread and the wider width knitted necktie. We also like the contrasting off-white colored pocket square that features a cherry-red boarder (perfectly tying in the red of the tie into the look). Without doubt one of our favorite looks for wearing a knitted necktie.
What excited us about this outfit is the play of pattern. The knitted dark midnight blue knitted tie adds a nice texture and color contrast without taking away from the nice glen-check patterns and stripes found on sport coat and shirt. Again, a pocket square featuring color contrasting boarder is chosen to add more contrast to the jacket.
This outfit is proof that knitted neckties are just as well suited for the sunny days in spring and summer. The dark navy and beige stripes are well tied into the tan colored suit and light blue dress shirt. The crisp white pocket square adds elegance without causing pattern or color overload.
