Stripes Are Everywhere in Fashion

Stripes in Menswear are Rocking!

Have you heard the new summer hit Blurred Lines?  We bet you have! This song has been playing everywhere this Summer and gained even more momentum at the VMA Awards.   As controversial as it may be, it has reignited a stripe craze in menswear fashion. Stripes are literally everywhere we look.  And we think one of the major influences was Robin Thicke’s boldly striped white and  black suit he wore when he sang Blurred Lines with Miley Cyrus at the VMA Show.

You can’t help but stare a bit when you see this wide striped suit.  We aren’t saying that we love it, but can’t argue -it is indeed a statement piece. We are sure we love stripes as much as Robin Thicke does- but we aim at taking a subtler approach to wearing black and white stripes this season.

Rather than opting for a brazen striped suit, we suggest adding a dose of stripes to your look by accessorizing with this graphic striped tie in a dark grey.  This punchy accessory captures the stripe craze and still looks sophisticated and refined.  We love to see this tie teamed up  with a white dress shirt and a black blazer.

There’s something iconic and awesome about a classic striped black and and white tshirt.  This simple and comfortable tee mixes with absolutely everything ranging from red cotton chinos to charcoal wool blazers.

Another option for looking fashionable in stripes is rocking a bold and dapper striped blazer like this one. The vertical stripes elongate the frame adding the illusion of a few inches as well as dressing up your basics.

You have an array of options to look like a rockstar in stripes this season without looking ostentatious.  Some of you may want a striped suit while others of you might just opt for a striped tie or striped accessories. It’s truly up to you and your comfort level.
